I have a long career in sales. Sales positions are purely results driven. You learn to set goals and create a plan to reach them. In addition, I have experience creating and working within a budget. My wife and I moved to Carpentersville in 2013. We love the community and the people here. I am a graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a degree in Marketing. I plan on using my business education and experience to help on the Business Development Commission. I am an ambassador for and an active member of the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce. Increasing local business is one of my top priorities. Last, I am running for trustee with no hidden agenda. My goal is to educate myself on the issues that are important to the community and vote accordingly. My family and I have embraced the community and made many friends very quickly. As Trustee, I will promote the values and goals of my constituents. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I feel that our current tax rates are too high. I understand why they are at the current rates. This, in turn, will allow us bring the tax rates down.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns? Both our police and our fire departments are first rate. I recently completed the Carpentersville Citizen's Fire Academy. Our firefighters and paramedics are top notch and their response rates are excellent. I have also worked with several of our police officers at Shop With a Cop Dundee Township. Public safety is paramount. We need to continuously monitor both department needs and weigh them against tax concerns. We are very lucky to live a community with such excellent public servants.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?I currently cannot identify any areas to trim the budget. I will continue to educate myself on our budget and our community to make the best decisions. Keeping taxes down and hopefully lowering them is a top priority. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Carpentersville has a negative reputation with some of the surrounding communities. When my wife and I moved to the area, we were told that Carpentersville was rampant with gang activity and crime. I want to help change this image. Improving our image will help us bring in new businesses. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office? Our public schools are another one of my biggest interests. For our community to flourish, our schools need to be safe and they need to provide a quality education that will prepare our children for their future. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.I have always been most inspired by my parents.
