Veterans, rodeo highlight Day 2 at Lake County Fair
A tribute to veterans, cowboys doing their best to hang on to buckin' broncos and a fireworks show that lit up the skies over Grayslake highlighted Day 2 of the Lake County Fair on Thursday.
The fair, in its 82nd year, accented its rural roots Thursday with the Pro Stampede Rodeo, goat-milking competitions and country music performances.
Another highlight was the crowning of Junior Miss and Little Miss Fair, following Wednesday's coronation of 2014 Miss Lake County Fair Julia Bauschke.
Friday's can't-miss events include second rodeo competition at 7 p.m., along with the Lake County Farm Heritage Association antique tractor parade at 5 p.m. and the 4-H Battle of the Barns at 6 p.m.
