Man seriously hurt in Rolling Meadows crash

A man was seriously injured Saturday after his minivan rolled over on Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows.

Firefighters had to free the man from the black van that reportedly struck a tree, turned on its side and slid roughly a half block before coming to rest near Flicker Lane.

There were no passengers. The man was taken to a hospital.

A woman who lives in a house nearby heard the crash and called 911 at 4:51 p.m.

Traffic was redirected onto side streets.
