More snow falls on Michigan; At least 5 killed in crashes

DETROIT (AP) - Another round of snow has hit Michigan's Lower Peninsula, with crashes claiming at least five lives.

Three-point-four inches of snow fell in Saginaw County through Wednesday morning.

The Missaukee County sheriff's department says a woman and her father died Tuesday when a pickup truck hit their car. They're identified as 47-year-old Wendy King and 71-year-old Michael Inscho of Merritt.

The Kent County sheriff's department says 75-year-old John Snyder and his 73-year-old passenger Marlene Snyder died Wednesday when the Hastings couple's car struck an SUV.

State police say 57-year-old Michelle Casey died Wednesday when her car hit an SUV in Allegan County.

About 45 students escaped injury Wednesday afternoon when their bus was in a four-vehicle pileup on Interstate 94 in Jackson County.

Detroit's public schools reopen Thursday after three days.
