No injuries reported in Elgin garage fire
A garage fire on the 400 block of Morgan Street early Sunday morning resulted in no injuries, Elgin fire authorities said.
A neighbor noticed the fire just after midnight in a detached garage and dialed 911, authorities said.
Firefighters first on the scene found two garages on fire. One was fully engulfed in flames and had collapsed.
The fast-moving fire caused damage to several nearby structures including the exteriors of two homes, a third garage, a shed and a fence, authorities said
The fire was under control at 12:39 a.m., authorities said. The damage for all structures was reported to be approximately $50,000.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
