Elk Grove building named after longest-serving trustee

Elk Grove Village's longest-serving trustee, Jim Petri, has been honored with the naming of the village's public works facility after him.

Petri was recognized with a surprise ceremony this week at the facility, 600 Landmeier Road, for his 36 years on the village board, during which time he has overseen village infrastructure improvements.

Petri has co-chaired the industrial and revitalization commission, recently converted into the business leaders forum, and chaired the capital improvements committee.

Re-elected in April to another 4-year term, Petri has attended some 800 village board meetings in his tenure.
