One hospitalized in crash on Larkin in Elgin

A crash between a van and a car on Larkin Avenue in Elgin sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday, police at the scene said.

The accident, at the corner of Larkin and Alfred avenues, occurred about noon and slowed traffic on Larkin for about an hour.

As a result of the crash, the van veered into a resident's front yard and stopped just inches from hitting the home, police Cmdr. Colin Fleury said. Additional details about the cause of the crash were not available.

Fleury said the accident was minor, and injuries were non-life threatening.
