Two charged in Round Lake Beach car theft

Two Round Lake Beach men were arrested on charges they robbed an acquaintance of his car at gunpoint Wednesday night, police said.

Facing charges are Arturo Lopez, 20, of 1300 Block of Barberry Lane, and Jonathan Caballero, 23, of the first block of West Lindsay Drive. Charges against both men include armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police said the two men robbed an acquaintance and stole his car. Lopez fired a handgun during the robbery but didn't hit anyone, police said. The gun and the car were recovered, police said.
