Dense fog advisory in place until 9 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the Chicago area until 9 a.m., officials said.

Visibility is less than one quarter mile in some areas, officials said.

The fog advisory means people driving should slow down and give themselves plenty of room to stop.

People should also use their headlights to help with visibility issues.
