New sports store to open in Palatine

A new Play It Again Sports store is set to open in Palatine on Thursday and the public is invited to be apart of the new location's unveiling.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the new store which is at 315 E. Northwest Hwy. Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz will be on hand for the ceremony along with the new stores' staff and other community members.

"I'm thrilled to open my business in such a warm, welcoming, sports-oriented community like Palatine," Mark Ellison, the new stores' owner, said in a news release this week. "I'm sure everyone will love the breadth of new and used merchandise we provide."

The store will buy and sell gently-used sports and fitness equipment.

The Palatine Play It Again Sports is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For information, visit www.playitagainsportspalatineplaza.com or call (847) 221-8260.
