Pierce re-elected North Shore water district leader

Daniel Pierce of Highland Park was unanimously re-elected as president of the North Shore Water Reclamation District at its annual organization meeting in December. Also re-elected were Vice President Steve Drew of Waukegan and Treasurer Preston Carter of Beach Park. Pierce has been a district trustee since 2004, representing Ward 5 (Highland Park, Highwood), and previously served twice as president. He is the recipient of the National Association of Cleanwater Agencies Public Service Award and the Illinois Association of Wastewater Agencies Public Official Award. Drew has been a trustee since 2002, representing Ward 2 (Waukegan). He previously served twice as board president and vice president. Carter has served as a trustee since December 2012, representing Ward 1 (Winthrop Harbor, Zion, Beach Park). He was first elected treasurer in 2014. He also was a 34-year employee of the district before retiring in 2010.
