ESHOF to host program on Elgin High sports

"Elgin High School Sports in the 1950s" will be presented on Monday, March 16th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the old Elgin High School gym (entrance on east side on Gifford Street).

The program will feature reminiscences and discussion from Elgin High School athletes of that period.

Featured participants are Paul Hudgens (Class of 1955), Dick Becker, Chuck Brandt, and Gary Kane (all from Class of 1957), and Roger Lenart (Class of 1960).

Audience participation will be encouraged by moderator Mike Bailey. Memories of outstanding EHS football and basketball teams will be shared and the unique relationship between the sports teams and the community explored.

Registration for this program is available by calling Gail Borden Library at (847) 742-2411. The program is being hosted by the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation and Elgin Historical Society as part of the Reflections of Elgin: 1920s - 1970s.
