Mundelein tops Whitney Young

Wes Farmer and Nick Bryne each went 2-for-3, and Mundelein's baseball team opened its season with a 3-1 win over visiting Whitney Young on Thursday.

Sam Osisek doubled for the Mustangs, while Nick Brune earned the win.

Johnsburg 12, Round Lake 2: Nick Berry was 2-for-2 with a double and run scored for the visiting Panthers in their season-opening loss.

Joe Theoblad also doubled for Round Lake, while Vinnie Milianti drove in both of the team's runs.

Each team had 6 hits, but Johnsburg benefitted from 13 free passes.
