Naperville North powers past Naperville Central
Naperville North 13, Naperville Central 5:
A 6-run first inning and a 7-run second powered the Huskies (7-8, 4-2) to the DuPage Valley Conference victory. Alex Garon went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. Paul Dobravec and Sam Siebers had 2 hits apiece in support of winning pitcher Luke Brennan. Bobby McMillen homered for Naperville Central (8-8, 2-4).
Fenton 8, Guerin 2:
With the score tied 2-2 through eight innings, Fenton (8-6, 2-3) broke open the Metro Suburban Conference game with a 6-run top of the ninth. Cory Schwarz went 3-for-5 with a double, triple and 4 RBI. Brady Pugliese scattered 5 hits in a complete-game effort.
Glenbard South 11, Timothy Christian 2:
The Raiders (11-5, 6-3) broke out to a 7-0 lead in their Metro Suburban Conference win. Michael Ashe went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI. Fabian Garcia went the distance on the mound.
Metea Valley 5, West Aurora 4:
After tying the game on Jack Feeley's RBI single in the top of the seventh, the Mustangs (10-5, 5-4) won the Upstate Eight Valley game with a run on an error in the eighth. Jacob Petersen and Jack Szott each had 2 hits. Ben Belskis pitched 5 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
Wheaton Academy 9, Elmwood Park 3:
Noah Ritchie and Brett Albaugh drove in 2 runs and Jake Lindstedt homered for the Warriors (13-3, 7-1) in their Metro Suburban Conference win. Winning pitcher Chris Johnson allowed only 2 hits in 5 innings.
Willowbrook 8, York 6:
The Warriors (12-6) broke a 4-4 tie by scoring 4 runs in the top of the fifth. Trey Jones went 2-for-4 with a triple and 3 RBI while Mark Molitor and Kyle Ferguson, who drove in 2 runs, each had 2 hits. Matt Pizur picked up the win and Cam Zunkel the save.
