Nineteen Suburban Chicago's Got Talent finalists perform in Schaumburg

The fourth annual Suburban Chicago's Got Chicago continued Sunday with the first public performance of the summerlong competition at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. Great weather, live entertainment draw large crowds to Ribfest

Aside from the live entertainment and plenty of rib vendors, the weekend's sunny weather was pivotal in the success of the 28th annual Ribfest in Naperville, event organizers said. “People think I made a deal with the devil to get this weather,” said Ribfest Chairman Bob Pschirrer. He said he estimates an attendance of about 150,000 people for all four days of the festival in Knoch Park. Full story.

'Efficient' Chicago Cubs making every hit count

Cubs manager Joe Maddon called Sunday's 2-0 victory over the Miami Marlins a “nondescript” game. But it would have been hard to top Saturday night's firecracker of a Fourth of July, when Kris Bryant hit a couple of homers and the fans got to enjoy a real fireworks show afterward. Sox see winning streak snapped

Heading into Sunday's game against the Orioles, the Sox pitching staff was on quite a roll. The torch was passed Sunday to Carlos Rodon, and the numbers say he dropped it.
