Neighborhoodscout.com puts Bartett, Hanover Park on 'safest communities' list

Two neighbors - Bartlett and Hanover Park - have made a national list ranking the top 100 safest cities in the United States.

Neighborhoodscout.com tracked both violent (armed robbery, murder, rape) and property crime (burglary, arson) data in towns with more than 25,000 people.

Bartlett came in at No. 11, and Hanover Park, No. 41.

While the former is slightly bigger than the other, the odds of becoming a victim of crime aren't noticeably different.

The website, geared toward new homeowners, pegs the chances in Bartlett at 1 in 143. In its neighbor to the east? 1 in 105.
