One injured in early morning crash on I-355

One person was injured early Wednesday after the passenger car they were driving rear-ended a semitrailer on southbound I-355, officials said.

The car lost control and rolled over into a grassy area on the right shoulder after the vehicle hit the semi at milepost 27.75 at 2:22 a.m., officials from the Illinois State Police said, in a news release.

The driver of the vehicle sustained a head injury, but was conscious when rescue arrived, officials said.

The driver was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, officials said.
