Softball: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, April 21

Bartlett 14, Elgin 6: Lauren Janczak hit a home run and Alyssa Nowak and Sarah Schmitz each doubled to lead Bartlett (11-4-1, 6-2) to an Upstate Eight win. Jemiyah Stewart and losing pitcher Jessica Rago each hit home runs for Elgin (2-14, 1-7), which also got doubles from Madison Latham (2 RBI) and Destiny West (RBI) and a double from Jenna Lombardo. Nowak was the winning pitcher.

Riverside-Brookfield 6, St. Edward 5: Allison Stratman was 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI, while Megan Strong (RBI), losing pitcher Lindsay Zdroik (2B, RBI) and Emily Stapay (RBI) each had 2 hits for the Green Wave (13-3-1, 4-2) in the Metro Suburban West.

Neuqua Valley 4, Larkin 3: Sophie Young had a triple and Alexa Urbanik had 2 RBI for the Royals (2-13, 1-7) in the Upstate Eight. Sarah Hansen took the loss for Larkin, which lost its third one-run game of the season.

DeKalb 11, Cary-Grove 0: in nonconference action, Caitlyn Adams had Cary-Grove's only hit of the game. Amanda DeGroote took the loss for the Trojans (5-8).

Johnsburg 2, Burlington Central 0: Kristina Ahlers had a double and Emily Kisch took the loss for the Rockets (7-9, 4-2) in the Big Northern East.

Alden-Hebron 14, Westminster Christian 1: Kristen Mason went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Sarah Schmitt had a double for Westminster (5-3, 2-1) in the Northeastern Athletic Conference. Rachel Rich was the losing pitcher.
