La. Tech senior named state women's top player

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech's Kelia Shelton led Louisiana Tech to a pair of Conference USA wins and earned Monday's choice as Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week for women's basketball.

The Lady Techsters defeated UTEP, 90-72, and UTSA, 79-74, as Shelton averaged 25.5 points and 7.0 rebounds.
