Highwood pumpkin fest carves out way to help Autism Society

The Autism Society of Illinois and the City of Highwood teamed up for this weekend's 6th Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival.

The three-day event featured pumpkin carving, costume contests, a Great Pumpkin Maze, trick or treating, pumpkin parade, contests, hay wagon and pony rides and kids crafts.

Festival organizers are hoping to break the Guinness Book of World Record for the most pumpkins carved in one place. The current record - 30,581 pumpkins - is held by Keene, New Hampshire.
