Downers Grove man charged with reckless discharge of a gun

A Downers Grove man has been charged with felony reckless discharge of a firearm, in connection with an Oct. 13 shooting that injured a man.

The charge was filed Tuesday against Daniel Ty Holous, according to DuPage County court records. Bail was set at $100,000.

Holous turned himself in to Downers Grove police Tuesday, posted $10,000 bond and was released, according to police.

Holous, 47, lives in the 6600 block of South Main Street.

Police reported they were called to a home in the 6600 block of Main Street around 9 p.m. Oct. 13.

A 27-year-old man had been shot. Police said he was taken to a hospital for treatment, and released soon after.

DuPage court records indicate Holous pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery in 2003 and misdemeanor DUI in 2008. He was charged in 2017 and 2019 with domestic battery, but the cases were dropped because the complaining witnesses did not show up to testify.

Will County records indicate Holous has a conviction for felony theft by deception in a 2018 case.
