Crosstown Classic supports Ronald McDonald House in Winfield

Timothy Christian School will host the first Crosstown Classic community event on its Elmhurst campus when it competes against Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep in baseball, softball, girls' soccer, and a bags tournament from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the corner of Butterfield Road and Prospect.

In addition, both schools are supporting the Ronald McDonald House near Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield by collecting pop tabs. The tabs will be sold to a recycling company and funds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, which provides housing to families who travel distances to get treatment for seriously ill or injured children. The house serves as a comforting home away from home for families in need.

TCHS and ICCP athletic teams will wear red and white striped socks to support the Ronald McDonald House. Socks also will be available for purchase at the Crosstown Classic. Other events include free Inflatable Madness for children, $3 face painting, and concessions provided by Smokin' Tailgaters BBQ from Westmont.
