Fremd tops Prospect in 2 OTs

Fremd's boys soccer team scored in the second overtime Tuesday to earn a 2-1 decision against host Prospect in Mid-Suburban League play.

The Vikings got a first-half goal from Rohan Menon, assisted by Luke Schoffstall.

Prospect tied it with a second-half goal before Fremd got the game-winner.

Michael Kramer made 3 saves for the Vikings, and Nick Josefowski stopped 5 shots for Prospect.

Barrington 3, Rolling Meadows 1: The Broncos scored twice in the first half and remain unbeaten against Mid-Suburban League competition after a victory at Meadows.

Maine West 1, Niles North 1: Joey Pulvino scored his fifth goal of the season off a corner kick from Michael Podsiadly to help the Warriors (2-6-2 overall) earn a draw in a Central Suburban North opener.

Buffalo Grove 2, Palatine 0: The Bison used a pair of second-half goals for Colin Doyle to pick up an MSL decision.

Drew Brauner and Ryan Drum provided the assists on Doyle's goals, and Bison keeper Caleb Mayhorn made 6 saves.

Hoffman Estates 2, Conant 1: Remzi Ahmeti and Konrad Kieruzal struck for second-half goals to help the host Hawks come up with an MSL victory.

Hersey 6, Elk Grove 0: The Huskies rolled to an MSL triumph at home.
