Illinois Music Educators Association select Fremd Music students for All-State
Palatine, IL: The Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) annually selects the most talented musicians across the state to attend the three-day ILMEA conference as all-state participants. The students rehearse with their ensembles and perform at the end of the conference. Thousands of musicians across the state vie for this prestigious honor.
This year 14 Fremd students were selected to perform in the Band, Orchestra and Choirs "We are very proud and excited for our Band, Orchestra, and Choir students selected for this very high honor. The students prepared and practiced many hours to prepare for the very competitive ILMEA auditions. For all of the students this is also the culmination of many years of dedication to performing their instrument or vocal part in school band, orchestra, and choir." said Matt Moore - Fremd High School Music Department Chair and Band Director. "The students are required to prepare etude selections for their individual instrument or vocal part, various scales, and challenging sight-reading for their audition. Due to the amount of students and schools participating in the auditions, the competition level is very high." The selected students and their ensembles are below.
Choir: Lauren Berryhill, Angie Cornwell, Quinn Jackson, Ben Mathew
Orchestra: Sarah Akutsu, Andres Carrero, Nathan Du, Joshua Kim, Brian Lin
Band: Julia Cai, Melinda Coleman, Cameron Harro, Andy Hong, Bruce Liu
