Union members are taxpayers, too

I feel the need to respond to Mr. Eden's view in the May 2 paper. I am not a resident of St. Charles, but I hear people like Mr. Eden speaking out. as he has, quite regularly.

His statement that a, "mayor and all the city council who represent unions and not the taxpayers" does not make any sense.

I am a proud union member, and a taxpayer, as are all my fellow union members. My union represents taxpayers every day. Please don't make yourself and other non-union members sound like they are not being represented by our elected officials just because you pay taxes. So do we.
