Join Elgin's National Night Out Block Party Aug. 4

No block party in your Elgin neighborhood for National Night Out? Come to Festival Park, 132 S. Grove Ave., for an evening of fun on Tuesday, Aug. 4, beginning at 6 p.m.

There will be inflatables, a splash-pad, an antique fire truck, a train, the Safety Town display, Elgin Police Department's BATT and tactical equipment, and food vendors.

Elgin K-9 Officer Marshall Kite and Gage will offer K-9 demonstrations from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. There will be live music with Flocks and the Lookout from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. At dusk, watch the 1988 comedy "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

There will be crime prevention information and even some special guests.

Booths will start clearing when the movie starts, but the party doesn't end until the movie's over. Visit cityofelgin.org.
