Sherman Hospital celebrates new healing courtyard

Elgin, Ill. - Advocate Sherman Hospital recently hosted a dedication ceremony for its newly renovated Hoffer Healing Courtyard.

The courtyard was created through the generous philanthropic support of William and Taffy Hoffer, and the Hoffer Foundation.

It is designed as a healing space where patients, visitors and staff can enjoy a respite in a natural setting that provides distractions to reduce stress.

Design features include a fountain, bereavement garden rocking chairs and benches, and a shade gazebo, to name a few.
