Workshop on improving volunteer engagement Nov. 19

HandsOn Suburban Chicago is pleased host a workshop by volunteer impact expert, Tony Goodrow on Wednesday, Nov. 19, entitled "Relative Impact ROI: A More Meaningful Way to Measure Volunteer Engagement."

Volunteer managers, executive directors, grant writers and funders will find this workshop valuable as Goodrow will demonstrate how to calculate the return on investment of volunteer engagement. His model is based on outputs and strides toward mission goals rather than the simple sum total of volunteer hours. In addition he will identify how common methods of reporting can lead to devaluing volunteers and demonstrate how to monitor the performance of volunteers for internal process improvements.

This workshop will demonstrate how the more-hours-the-better focus can actually devalue volunteers and how to use a new model that includes cash costs and the consumption of volunteer hours as inputs and accomplishments as outputs.

The workshop will be at Momentum Marketing Group, 3701 Algonquin Road, Suite 100, in Rolling Meadows, on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Breakfast and networking from 8:30-9 a.m. The workshop will run from 9 a.m.-noon. Theater seats are available for $25, premiere table top seats are $35. Ticket prices include free continental breakfast and parking.
