Train strikes pedestrian in Antioch

A 25-year-old Wisconsin woman is hospitalized with multiple injuries after she was struck by a train while walking Saturday night in Antioch.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Antioch police said, police officers were dispatched to the railroad tracks near Route 83 north of North Avenue.

They said Skyelene Karaszewski, 25, of Genoa City Wisconsin, was treated and transported by Flight for Life to the emergency room at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she remains in intensive care.

The accident is under investigation, police said
