Schaumburg tops BG for Heisler's first win

Schaumburg's boys basketball team used a strong fourth quarter to pick up the first victory for first-year head coach Wade Heisler on Saturday.

The Saxons got 7 points from Jason Schoo and 6 from Kameron Powell while outscoring Buffalo Grove 13-8 in the final period on the way to a 50-45 victory.

Powell made 4 of his 5 foul shots in the fourth quarter, and Schoo hit a 3.

Schoo, a senior, scored game-high 21 points, and Powell had 14 for the Saxons (1-5).

Buffalo Grove (3-3) was led by 12 points from Collin Dekorsi, all of which came on 3-points. Jack Vaselaney had 8 points and Joey Pinakidis had 7 for the Bison.

Barrington 72, Hersey 55: The host Broncos won their second straight and improved to 6-1 overall with a victory over the Huskies in an MSL crossover.

Barrington has another crossover at Prospect on Tuesday before hosting Conant in a West Division matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, while Hersey hosts Wheeling in East Division action Thursday.

Conant 53, Rolling Meadows 46: Ryan Davis scored 20 points to help the host Cougars improve to 4-1 overall with an MSL crossover victory.

Rolling Meadows (0-6) is next in action in a East Division game Thursday at Prospect.
