Town hall meets on ambulance question

Town hall meetings to discuss funding ambulance service in Antioch and Antioch Township will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Fire Station 3, 24675 Grass Lake Road, and on Thursday, March 19 at Fire Station 1, 835 Holbek Drive.

On April 7, voters in those areas will be asked to create a new tax to provide funding for ambulance services. Both the village and the First Fire Protection District are requesting voter approval for the measure, which would ad an estimated $83.34 to the annual property tax bill for the owner of a home valued at $100,000.

Details of the proposals and issues related to emergency medical services will be provided and officials will be available to answer questions. Tours of the facilities and equipment also will be provided.
