Tourney setbacks for Lakes, Wauconda, Vernon Hills

Crystal Lake South 52, Lakes 45: At Jacobs, Jordan Mercure scored a season-high 17 points for the Eagles, who fell to 1-2 in the tournament.

Kyle Rohr had 10 for Lakes (4-6), which plays South Elgin at noon Wednesday.

Woodstock North 46, Wauconda 45: At Marengo, the Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaker in their third game of the E.C. Nichols Holiday Classic.

Kyle Drobnik scored 14 points for Wauconda (3-6, 1-2 tournament). Parker Fink had 11, sinking three 3-pointers, and Bryan Need chipped in 9 points.

Wauconda plays Richmond-Burton at noon Wednesday.

Prospect 58, Vernon Hills 47: At Wheeling, the Cougars fell to 0-2 in the Hardwood Classic.

Tanner Tolari scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting for Vernon Hills (6-6). The senior guard was 4 of 8 from three-point range. Michael Dougherty added 9 points for the Cougars, who play Dundee-Crown at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
