Elgin Genealogical Society to present 'Chasing Unicorns' Aug. 15

On Thursday, Aug. 15, the Elgin Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

Anne Faulkner will present "Chasing Unicorns: A Case Study With An Elgin Connection."

Miss Jennie Whitford was a woman without a past when she married Harrison Faulkner in Grass Lake, Michigan in 1856. Using collateral and cluster research, plus other evidence, Faulkner's presentation will explore the methodology used to discover Jennie's life and history and her surprising "Elgin connection."

Faulkner has been a passionate family historian and lover of all things past. She has over 20 years experience working on her own family lineage and continually making new discoveries! She enjoys telling stories of ancestors, sharing information, discoveries and frustrations. You may know Faulkner through her blog posts on Ancestor Archaeology.
