Could a children’s museum be coming to Des Plaines?
A Des Plaines couple is looking to create a children’s museum in the city’s downtown area.
Maria and Nicholas Strohmayer are behind the proposal, which is in early stages.
A site hasn’t been selected, although a proposed apartment building that’s expected to have commercial space on the ground floor is being considered, officials have said. Developers want to put up that building on Prairie Avenue between Graceland Avenue and Lee Street.
