Mundelein won't support Rauner plan

Two weeks after postponing a vote on a resolution that would support Gov. Bruce Rauner's plan to help the state's finances by weakening labor unions, Mundelein officials on Wednesday announced they're dropping the issue. The Mundelein village board was among the first in the suburbs to debate a resolution favoring Rauner's Turnaround Agenda. Dozens of union members and their supporters attended the April 6 board meeting to oppose the resolution. Similar protests have arisen in Libertyville, Wauconda and other towns. Mundelein officials said they would try to revise the resolution but have since abandoned that effort.
