South Elgin 78, Rockford Jefferson 59: On the final day of the Hinkle Holiday Classic at Jacobs, Matt Smith scored 19 points and Tyler Hankins added 17 to lead the Storm (7-8) to the win. South Elgin sealed the win by going 24 of 32 from the free throw line, including an 8-for-11 effort from Smith.
Prairie Ridge 57, Bartlett 55: Down by 8 going into the fourth quarter, Bartlett couldn't complete the comeback in this loss at Jacobs. Robby Jimenez led the Hawks (6-6) with 21 points and Jason Hasenberg added 13.
Cary-Grove 73, Corliss 50: Also at Jacobs, Zach Beaugreau had 22 points and Daniel Schmidt scored 14 to lead Cary-Grove (3-10).
Huntley 52, Johnsburg 42: Lere Oladipo scored 13 points and JJ Flores added 12 as Huntley (6-6) earned the win at Jacobs. Kyle Nowgu also had 10 points for the Red Raiders.
Metea Valley 57, Batavia 52: In the opening round of the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic at York, Canaan Coffey had 20 points, Thomas Kamontez 13 and John Fitch 8 for Batavia (6-4).
St. Edward 52, Elmwood Park 37: In the opening round of pool play at the ICCP/Westmont tournament, St. Edward's Kelvin Cortez-Harvey struck for a career-high 34 points to lead the Green Wave (6-6) to the win.
Streamwood 56, Vernon Hills 37: The Sabres (3-12) notched their second straight win at the Wheeling Hardwood Classic behind 19 points from Joey O'Halloran, 12 points and 11 rebounds from Brendon Merton, 9 points from Jaleel Jenkins, 8 points from Philip Cruz and 10 rebounds from Jake McGlone.
Dundee-Crown 47, Maine West 46: Also at Wheeling, the Chargers earned their first win of the season as Jack Orndahl led the way with 13 points. Gabriel Bergeron added 8 points for D-C (1-10).
Kaneland 72, Chicago Hope 30: Dylan Vaca had 21 points, Ryan David 15 points and 7 rebounds and Ethan Conroy 8 points as Kaneland opened the Plano Christmas Classic with an easy win. Garrett Hukle pulled down 7 rebounds for the Knights (6-1).
Aurora Christian 48, Yorkville 44: RD Lutze had 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles (7-1) at Plano. Jake Wolfe added 8 points and 7 rebounds to the win for AC.
Burlington Central 63, Lisle 58: Zach Schutta scored 14 points and had 8 rebounds as the Rockets (9-0) held off Lisle at the Plano tournament. Joe Ratzek added 13 points and Ryan Fitzgerald had 10 for BC. Rockets' coach Brett Porto picked up his 100th career win with the victory.
Tampa (FL) Catholic 84, ACC 69: At the East Aurora tournament, Aurora Central Catholic (2-6) was led by Brett Czerak (25 points), Kyle Czerak (14 points) and Zack Smith (12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists).
