Hanover Twp. board to appoint new member after trustee steps down

Hanover Township trustees will appoint a new board member to fill the remaining term of William Burke, who stepped down to head the township's emergency services department.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live within the township for at least a year. They must send a letter of interest and resume to 250 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett, Illinois, 60103, attention Hanover Township Supervisor Brian McGuire or email supervisor@hanover-township.org.

The deadline to turn in applications is close of business on Friday, Jan. 30. The appointment will last until May 2017, or the last two years of Burke's four-year term.

The board is expected to interview candidates at the Feb. 3 meeting and should vote on the appointment Feb. 17.

Burke will begin his new position in early to mid-February.
