Jackson Jr. to refinance home to pay fines

Court documents filed by lawyers for ex-U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. say the imprisoned politician is refinancing a home to pay forfeiture judgments related to his federal corruption conviction.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Jackson is expected to pay U.S. Marshals $550,000 by the end of the month. He's already paid the government $200,000.

The Chicago Democrat is serving a 2½-year sentence after admitting to illegally using campaign money. Jackson admitted spending $750,000 of donors' money on more than 3,000 personal items.

He's scheduled for release Dec. 31, 2015.

Jackson and his wife, Sandi, own two homes - one in Chicago and one in Washington.
