Bartlett man pleads guilty to attempted robbery

A 26-year-old Bartlett man pleaded guilty Wednesday to trying to rob three men at gunpoint last July 4.

In exchange for Michael T. Foster's guilty plea, a Cook County judge sentenced him to five years in prison, with a recommendation for the Illinois Department of Corrections Impact Incarceration Program, also known as boot camp.

The judge also ordered Foster to pay $689 in fines.

Foster approached the men as they entered their car in a parking lot on the 100 block of Hillcrest Lane in Bartlett, prosecutors said at Foster's bond hearing last year. Pointing a weapon at the men, he ordered them to hand over their money. The victims fled after Foster dropped the gun, prosecutors said. Foster subsequently turned himself in.
