Hoffman Estates Citizen Fire Academy this fall

The 16th Hoffman Estates Citizen Fire Academy this fall provides an opportunity for residents of the village to experience and learn about the inner workings of their fire department.

Classes will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Sept. 2 through Nov. 4 at Fire Station 24, 5775 Beacon Pointe Drive in Hoffman Estates.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside, attend school, or work in Hoffman Estates. Class size is limited and fills up quickly.

Class members will not only get the chance to participate in a variety of activities performed by firefighters but also to learn about home fire safety, CPR and the history of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department in a relaxed atmosphere.
