Lesson learned through watching horse's journey

This holiday season I'm thankful for Samson, the last chance mustang, who taught me that after years of unspeakable horror, even the most hateful and maladjusted can start anew.

Samson was a wild horse who, after his capture, spent years with owners who schooled him with pain and punishment. Over time, his best defense became offense and he learned to strike first at all who entered his domain. Then, when we met, for some reason he let down his guard and he let me in. Despite all he had been through, this victim still believed that we, his abusers, could be different - that we could be so much better. Samson the once-wild-and-free mustang taught me the true meaning of hope, healing, love and redemption.
