Buffalo Grove chamber to host summit
The Buffalo Grove Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce recently announced that State of Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger will address the third annual Business Connection Summit Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove.
Munger is a native Illinoisan, earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois and her master's degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a former brand management business executive with Helene Curtis/Unilever, where she led the $800 million U.S. Hair Care business and managed large budgets, reduced costs and delivered results.
Early in her career, Munger also worked at Procter & Gamble and at McKinsey and Company, Inc. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Business Connection Summit, which is designed to help small to medium-sized businesses improve their ability to do business with large firms and with each other.
Companies that have confirmed their participation in the event include Walgreens, Metra, ComEd, Wintrust, Quill, Siemens, the Village of Buffalo Grove and the Buffalo Grove Park District.
"We are very excited that Comptroller Munger will be able to share her business and government experience with our summit attendees," said chamber President Michael Abruzzini of Buffalo Grove Bank and Trust.
"She brings a rare perspective with both large company and governmental experience. She can help our attendees connect the dots between what happens in Springfield and how that can impact small and large businesses."
"That Comptroller Munger has made time in her busy schedule to address the summit shows how important creating business opportunities is to the current administration," said event coordinator Adriane Johnson. "We are glad to be able to facilitate this unique opportunity for our attendees."
The theme of this year's Business Connection Summit will be "Using Social Media to Promote Your Business."
