Families get early start on celebrating the New Year in Mundelein
About 200 children and adults got an early start on celebrating the arrival of 2015 during the Fremont Public Library's annual Family New Year's Celebration on Sunday.
The event featured a performance from Ryan Freeman of R.C. Juggles & Company. Children laughed and gawked as he performed tricks with yo-yos, juggled, and created balloon sculptures during the 45-minute action-packed, interactive show.
"He was awesome!" smiled Shannon Roma, 8, of Gurnee after helping Freeman build a balloon sculpture. "It was fun making an octopus."
At the end of the show, there was a countdown and celebration of the upcoming new year.
