Park District projects address resident requests
The village of Roselle is the perfect mix of a suburb and a small town. It is a vibrant community with strong hometown values. Generations of families settle down here because of the joy, friendships and memories they build with each other.
Many of those friendships and memories begin and grow because of the Roselle Park District. In the 20-plus years living in Roselle, my family has been very active in a range of park district activities, beginning with preschool, moving to sports and cultural arts programs and now to adult programming. During these experiences, our family built strong bonds of friendships and my children learned teamwork and sportsmanship and explored new skills.
Some of my fondest memories and strongest friendships developed in and around Roselle Park District programs and facilities. That is why this year’s referendum is so important to me. I want the Roselle Park District to continue investing in capital improvements that engage all aspects of our community. If the community approves the bond request on the March 19 ballot, we will see improvements including the splashpad, new playground, modified fitness center and trail improvements, as well as environmental enhancements with renewed tree canopies and natural area restoration. I look forward to hundreds more walks on newly enhanced trails throughout Kemmerling and Turner parks.
Most importantly, these projects are focused on the requests of our community and build on the great things already accomplished. All of these things create core memories for our families and build the legacy and desirability of this fantastic village we call home.
For more information on the upcoming bond request, I encourage you to visit the Roselle Park District website at www.rparks.org/futureparks or visit one of our information sessions. And don’t forget to vote on March 19.
