Aurora City Hall hosts celebration on International Women’s Day
It was a party with a purpose at Aurora City Hall on Friday, March 8, as the city celebrated International Women’s Day.
Mayor Richard Irvin’s office hosted an afternoon gathering to honor women staffers.
The event included colorful leis, free giveaways, and a chance for lucky raffle winners to spin the Paid Time Off (PTO) Wheel, where some staffers received a full 8-hour day of PTO.
Because Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day coincide with National Procurement Month, the city’s Procurement Division — comprised of all women — was honored during the event for the team’s efforts in ensuring the city remains a good fiscal steward of taxpayer money.
The city will honor women community leaders during an upcoming city council meeting.
