Waiting for handouts

Why is it OK for our local towns and villages to give out taxpayers’ money in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to privately owned restaurants so they can remodel or start up at taxpayers’ expense? I've read in newspapers and seen on the news recently that Chicago, Highland Park, Mount Prospect and other villages have done this.

Taxpayers should be outraged that this has become a common practice with the use of their tax dollars. This is akin to the federal government paying off hundreds of billions of dollars and more to let students out of agreed-upon term student loans. This is a lesson of irresponsibility.

And to the hardworking people that previously paid off their student loans and remodeled or started their restaurants on their own with their own money or money acquired from a loan.

Oh, well. Maybe there'll be a handout later for you.
