Not a good look
It wasn’t exactly a replay of “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington”, but Jerry Reinsdorf did descend on Springfield, looking to get a billion dollars for his futuristic playground in downtown Chicago.
Dressed in a leather jacket rather than business attire, he more closely resembled a Hell’s Angels reject than the chairman of the board for a sports franchise valued at $2 billion or more.
And ever the charmer, Mr. Reinsdorf shrugged off reporters questions with a combination of sarcasm and utter disdain. All in all, it wasn’t a good look for a team going nowhere (with the possible exception of either Nashville or Las Vegas).
