Storytelling event at Grass Lake School ignites imaginative ideas

The magic of storytelling happened at Grass Lake School on Feb. 8. The students were engrossed in the creative world of imagination, led by the innovative and wise local storyteller Jim May.

Grades PreK-8 had an opportunity to take the journey with May to a place where they could experience empathy, laugh, jump with fright and be wrapped in the comfort of a positive ending. This school assembly was warmly received and ignited creativity.

To add a cherry on the cupcake, May returned to school in the evening for a family storytelling event. Children and parents arrived in their pajamas along with sleeping bags, stuffed animals and a willingness to be silly and have fun. There wasn’t a better way to spend a winter evening at Grass Lake School then families sharing milk and cookies with smiles on their faces.
