Will Hamas stop?

Regarding Tom Montgomery Fate's commentary (Guest view, Feb. 9th) concerning a cease-fire in Gaza I think he's referencing the wrong war. He should look at the civilian victims of WWII. That's where Jews were being killed by the Nazis on a daily basis. It is estimated that close to 50 million people died in the European and Pacific theaters, mostly civilians.

Yes, it is horrific that innocents are being killed. It is also horrific that Hamas, with the support of the Palestinians, uses schools, hospitals and the public to shield their terrorists. Does Mr. Fate and those who call for a cease-fire also call for Hamas to completely surrender and atone for their 'vicious' attack? I never seem to hear that call.

He also emphasizes that Israel has killed 20 times the number of civilians. I know if it was my family that was brutally raped, tortured and murdered for no other reason than who they were, I would expect 100 times retribution.
