Teen charged in bomb threat

A Hersey High School junior faces a felony disorderly conduct charge in connection with a bomb threat sent via e-mail to his school's administrators earlier this week.

Evan G. Loritsch, 17, of 1517 N. Evergreen, Arlington Heights, was released on bond Friday. His next court appearance will be Feb. 6 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.

School officials received an e-mail at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, said Cmdr. Ken Galinski of the Arlington Heights Police Department. The e-mail was sent from a computer at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Galinski said.

The Cook County Sheriff Police Bomb Squad spent three hours searching the high school on Wednesday but no bombs were found, Galinski said. Parents were also notified.
